The 2022 Dawnland StoryFest — New England's only annual Indigenous storytelling festival — will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, NH.

Strawbery Banke Museum has taken on permanent sponsorship of the Dawnland StoryFest and will host it annually as part of the Museum’s Abenaki Heritage Initiative.

This year's special guest teller and keynote speaker is Gayle Ross (Cherokee), an internationally recognized traditional Indigenous storyteller.

The four other featured storytellers are:

  • HearsCrow (Narragansett storyteller in the Longhouse tradition)
  • Darlene Kascak (Schaghticoke)
  • Louise Profeit-LeBlanc (Na-Cho Nyak Dun First Nation/Canada)
  • Anne Jennison (of European & Abenaki heritage).

There may also be some volunteer opportunities related to the Dawnland StoryFest. More details will be forthcoming soon!
